Filippa fabric - Available in 3 colourways
This striking floral fabric is sustainably printed on the finest linen fabric. Inspired by old Norwegian cultural heritage patterns, this fabric design is perfect for cushions, curtains, upholstery and other soft interior furnishings.
The story behind this pattern: In search of inspiration, Gyri looked to traditional Norwegian folk costumes, Bunad. She came across a design on a beautiful piece of Bunad embroidery, from Telemark, dating from the early 19th century. Traditionally people wore these colourful folk costumes on festive occasions, and the use of intricate patterns and colours (usually reds, greens, blue and yellow) accessorised with silver jewellery illustrated a persons social status.
The pattern was hand painted with watercolours before being printed onto the finest linen fabric.
