Mattis fabric - Available in 3 Colourways
This lovely fabric with stripes is sustainably printed on the finest linen fabric. Inspired by old Norwegian cultural heritage patterns, this fabric design is perfect for cushions, curtains, upholstery and other soft furnishings for interiors.
The story behind this pattern: This design references traditional scrollwork seen in the old decorative art form, Rosemaling. This art was typically found in rural valleys of Southern Norway, in Telemark. Rosemaling with its stylized flower ornamentation, like C- and S-shaped scrolls, was painted on ornamental objects, cabinets, walls, and even ceilings. The art form dates back to the 18th century.
The pattern was hand painted with watercolours before being printed onto the finest linen fabric.
